A tribute to women in fine dining: 4 hands, one unforgettable night.

In the heart of Wirsberg, something powerful happened at the Posthotel Alexander Herrmann. From April 10th to 13th, the hotel hosted its first-ever “Week of Female Superheroes” - celebration of the women who shape fine dining with elegance, precision, and soul.

Too often, the spotlight in gastronomy falls on men. Yet behind many world-class experiences, there’s an extraordinary number of women quietly leading the way - whether at the pass, designing wine pairings, or creating unforgettable moments in the dining room.

The highlight of the week was a four-hands dinner on April 13th, a collaboration between Cornelia Fischer, Chef of the Year from Restaurant Überfahrt at Lake Tegernsee, and Lisa Schröder, sous-chef at the two Michelin-starred AURA by Alexander Herrmann & Tobias Bätz. Together, they created a six-course menu that felt like a conversation between two culinary minds - elegant, precise, and deeply personal.

The evening was hosted by Anja Kirchpfening, Gastronomic Director, and Deborah Schmidt, Restaurant Manager at AURA - two women who understand that true hospitality lies in the details, the rhythm of the room, the sense of ease they create around you.

What followed was a dinner that honored not only ingredients and technique but the intuition, curiosity, and grace that women bring to fine dining.

The menu opened with a series of playful snacks - flaxseed fritter, wild boar with wild blueberries and orange, Franconian curry with aged beef, and a delicate spring tart - before moving into six thoughtful courses:

Barramundi with Pine de Claire oyster and bitter greens, rabbit with ham and fermented red onion, sturgeon with Franconian asparagus and buttermilk, oxtail with peas, saffron and grapefruit, trout with morel and vin jaune, and finally, a refreshing dessert of rhubarb, Silvaner and yogurt.

The wine pairing, curated by Nicole Roth of Weingut Roth in Wiesenbronn, showcased a sharp, feminine elegance. From her 2018 Cuvée Traditionelle Brut to the 2022 Muscaris and 2021 Pinot Noir from Wiesenbronner Wachhügel, each pour brought out a new nuance in the dish.

It wasn’t just a dinner—it was a reminder. That talent has no gender. That fine dining isn’t always about loud statements. Sometimes, it’s about restraint. Harmony. Layers. And that some of the most exciting voices in gastronomy today belong to women who are quietly reshaping the story—one plate at a time. Special thanks to Die Schneiderei Berlin.
